Florentine locations, open-air sets of one of the most-watched TV series: "My Brilliant Friend"
The beautiful sights of Pisa provided the setting for the second season of the popular TV series L'Amica geniale, based on Elena Ferrante's tetralogy of the same name. The story of Elena (Lenù), Lila and their friendship between love and rivalry is full of events that lead the two protagonists to make some very difficult choices.
For the third season (under the direction of Daniele Lucchetti), Florence plunged back into the 1970s to host the filming of the series, which instead began with a glimpse of the 1950s in the neighborhoods of Naples.
The third season Storia di chi fugge e di chi resta shows the two friends in the midst of their maturity and, to narrate Lenù's events, starting with the fourth episode takes us to the historic town center of Florence, where she moves, after graduating and publishing a novel, to marry Pietro, a young university professor.

Surrounded by elegant 16th-century buildings and dominated by the church of the same name with the majestic statue of Dante Alighieri next to it, this beautiful square becomes the setting for various moments in the drama.
