The Amerigo Vespucci Airport is located in Florence, just 4 km from the historic city center, and offers numerous daily connections to the most important European cities.

The airport is well serviced by public transport: the T2 line of the tramway connects the airport with Piazza dell'Unità in 20 minutes, next to the Santa Maria Novella station. The "Vola in bus" service connects the airport with the train station every 30 minutes, 7 days a week. If you opt for a taxi, consider that there are fixed fares for the journey to the city center.

Regardless of your final destination, if one of the Tuscan airports is your point of arrival, departure or stopover, and you have a few hours available, their proximity to the historic centers of Florence and Pisa is a wonderful opportunity to visit.

The historic center of Florence is recognized as a UNESCO site and boasts a strong concentration of works of art. In just a few steps from the central station, you can reach the Novecento Museum dedicated to Italian art of the 20th and 21st centuries and the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, one of the most important churches in Florence and a treasure chest of masterpieces by Masaccio, Giotto, Botticelli and Filippo Lippi. In just a few minutes from there, you can reach Piazza Duomo and the thrilling glimpse of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery of San Giovanni and Giotto's bell tower.

In Pisa, after a short walk from the central station, you will find yourself in front of Tutto Mondo, the mural by Keith Haring that was painted in 1989 on the external wall of the rectory of the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate. Continuing along Corso Italia, one of the main shopping streets in the city, you reach the most important bridge in Pisa: Ponte di Mezzo. A few meters away from there, you'll find the Palazzo Blu museum, while just 1 km away is Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO protected site and home to four medieval architectural masterpieces: the Cathedral, Baptistery, Camposanto and the Bell Tower known as the Leaning Tower.
