Events, itineraries, shows and workshops to discover the textile industrial heritage

TIPO - Prato Industrial Tourism is an original experience of tourism which combines visits to buildings of industrial archaeology with those of working companies. A unique opportunity to discover the history, places and charm of Europe's most important textile district, where fine fabrics have been produced for centuries and world fashion trends are born.

It begins on the morning of April 12 at 10 a.m. with the AIPAI (Italian Association for Archaeological Heritage) national assembly followed by a discussion on industrial heritage as a resource for sustainable tourism.
In the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., the Regional Conference Industrial Tourism: networks, experiences and good practices in Tuscany and Italy (free admission, reservations on Eventbrite).

The day ends with the performance of Ghemon, at 9:30 p.m., who brings music, stand-up comedy and storytelling to the same stage.

On April 13 at 3 p.m., a guided tour of Macrolotto Zero, the old 20th-century textile manufacturing center, now a multicultural and creative neighborhood, where examples of urban regeneration and street art can be found.
Also on Saturday, with free admission, there will be workshops for children on fabric printing and creative embroidery, from 4:30 p.m..
At 9:30 p.m. a concert by Francesco Baccini is scheduled: before the concert, at 8:30 p.m., a guided visit at the Bacciottini Carpenteria Meccanica company with ignition of the Speed drink machine.

Sunday, April 14 at 9:30 a.m. begins a journey between industrial archaeology and the theatrical world, in the sign of Pier Luigi Nervi.
The day will end with the show - at 5:30 p.m. - Toscanacci, the result of a journey that seeks to recover and revive the great vein of sharp and shrewd Tuscan comedy inaugurated by Boccaccio, Collodi, Malaparte, Bianciardi.
With Paolo Hendel, Riccardo Goretti, Andrea Kaemmerle, from an idea by Andrea Kaemmerle.
Before the show, at 4 p.m., guided tour to the factory village La Briglia and firm Omega Filati.
