In Cecina an oasis where you can learn about animals from all over the world and rural life

The Gallorose Park is a wildlife center in the locality of Cecina that hosts over 150 species of animals from all over the world. The Park, which covers an area of five hectares, was created as a place designed for families, where children can follow the three-kilometer trail to discover wild and domestic species: there are farm animals, such as the mucca pisana (a breed of cattle from Tuscany) and the asino amiatino (a breed of donkey from Tuscany), but also the more exotic ones.

The Park is subdivided into two distinct sectors: the Farm focuses on domestic species, with special attention given to ancient breeds that are nowadays often forgotten due to intensive agriculture. The Zoological Park houses numerous species according to a geographic criterion, in the course of a journey during which we can encounter the African porcupine, lemurs from Madagascar, the red kangaroo from Australia, the European golden eagle and many other animals from the five continents.

The Park is also home to a museum area that collects vintage images with portraits and moments of life in the fields, as well as old toys from the early 20th century and agricultural tools of ancient times, such as plows and threshers.
